Welcome to hayati.io, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free computer education to children in rural Lombok. Our mission is to empower young students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the digital age and contribute to their communities.
We believe that education is a fundamental human right, and access to computer technology is essential for social and economic development in today’s world. Unfortunately, many students in rural areas lack the resources and opportunities to learn about computer technology and its practical applications.
What we teach them
We help them to learn about…
Basic Computer
How to use computer, mouse and keyboard. Understanding the use of each parts on computer. How to operate Windows operating system, file management, printer, scanners, flash drive, camera, and so on.
Microsoft Office and Google Doc
To help them getting work with computer, they have to be able to use at least Microsoft Office: Word and Excel. Aside from that they also have to learn on how to use Google doc and Google Sheets.
Internet
The thing that parents in the village are most afraid of is the misuse of the internet and smartphone. Hence we have to teach them on how to utilize it on the correct way, what they can do and what they can learn from Internet, especially on how to get resources and knowledge from Internet to help them grow their mind, knowledge, and opportunity.
Photography & Canva
Some of the youngster are equipped with quite fancy smartphone which have a good camera. But, they only use it for gamming. We help them learning on how to get a good quality pictures using their phone and do post processing using Canva. These will help them earn some pocket money by using their skills to help some business or government.
Business
Selling products and services is one of our roadmap. After they can easily use Microsoft office and Internet, they need to learn on how to use Online marketplace to sell products. This is a coursework where they have to find something interesting nearby, took a good photos of it and utilizing Canva or any online photo editing tools to optimize the product photos and then add it on their product listing.
